You have 3 basic resources at your disposal; Time, Energy, and Money! The most important one of those is not the time you spend, but how you spend your energy during that time period.
Often your energy is spent on people who are less accomplished in their personal and professional lives and those that you are desperate to have like you. There will be a lot of people who like that niche, the ones that tend to tug at your heart strings and you want to help. And there will be those individuals with whom you have those love/hate relationships that are toxic, create chaos, and support that slippery slope into your own frustration and anger, which for some reason you continue to keep in your life. And no matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, you won’t be able to make each and every one of them like you, agree with you, or be able to help them.
It has been proven that if you spend time with those who are not honest with themselves as to whether they are a giver or a taker, thus not able or willing to move forward, you also tend to fall behind and often give up on, sabotage or feel guilty about reaching your own dream. Your valuable example of living your life with purpose is what is needed.
Otherwise your energy will be spent spinning your wheels as you habitually lose momentum on creating your own success and becoming the example. It is entirely natural to feel this way, but in reality, there’s no need to justify yourself or your ambition. On the other hand, if you choose to spend time with people who are more accomplished than you, no matter how challenging that might be, you will become more successful. The truth is that those we choose to spend the most time with and energy on, add up to who we become. Think about that.
The only thing you can do is to remain responsible to yourself. Go ahead and be authentic as you improve and provide value to your life and dream every day, and know that the growing number of those that would see you fail or give up on your dream, means that you are doing important things and headed in the right direction.
Ciao, and avanti until next time. Carol
Now that you know what I’ve been thinking about, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this subject.
